Legends
This temple is bekieved to have been constructed by people who are the decendents of Lord sriKrishna.
It is said that in 17th Century one of the Jat kings were passing by this place and there was an old Narasimha temple here. (Buda Narasimha), This temple has a shaligrama of Lord Narasimha.
The king later constructed a huge temple (Naya Narasimha) according to agama shastras and installed a deity of Narasimha (family god of the yadu dynasty) on a Yantra. Most of the new temple history is associated with the maharaja and his wives visiting the temple thru caves underneath.

There are many great temples in this place Narasimhapur which were built by various Maharajas and Raannis of yesteryears. Notably, the Rani Durgavati’s Shiv temple and the Deepeshwar Shiv Temple located in the center of an island of narmada river.
