The Vadakkethevar Sree Narasimha Temple is located about 10 KM to the Northwest of the famous Guruvayoor Temple. The temple is reputed to be more than 1000 years old. Due to damage by invaders, a new idol was installed in 1969. and is in need of renovation. The deity installed here is Lakshmi Narasimha.
Apart from the idol of Lakshmi Narasimha, there are upadevas, namely, Bhagavathi, Ganapathi, Sasthavu, Nagas, Bhuvaneswari and Brahma Rakshas. To reach the temple, the visitor has to take the Ponnani Road, which is a narrow winding road, pass Annakottaa and Kottapadi.
