CHILKALURIPETA

Brief History Of The Kshetra (Sthala Puranam):

In 1712, in a village called pasumarru, lord’s idol came out from the earth when a muslim was ploughing the land in his backyard. While bringing the idol, the chariot remained stand still and did not move the position in that place where the present temple exists. This temple is constructed by then existing zamindar of Chilakaluripet, Raja ManuriVenkata Krishna RayamBbhahadhur. He also made the pratista of his kuladaivam hanuman and denoted land and money to the temple.
