In Tretayuga Lord Maha Vishnu appeared in this place as Narasimha Swamy and as a result of tapas(deep penance) of Atri maharshi 1100 years ago Nalam Seshachalam and Nalam Gurivi shetty constructed the temple. Ullipalem zamindar donated land to temple.
